Towards a Safe Environment and Sustainable Health
To monitor and map radiation levels across Sudan, providing accurate data to protect public health and the environment.
A Sudan where radiation risks are minimized, and communities live in a safe and healthy environment.
We are committed to using innovative technologies, fostering international collaboration, and raising public awareness about radiation risks.
The Sudan Radiation Mapping Project is a voluntary initiative aimed at monitoring natural and artificial radiation across Sudan. It creates comprehensive radiation maps to provide researchers, specialists, and decision-makers with accurate information about radiation levels in any geographical area of Sudan. The project is a pioneer in studying the environmental and radiological impacts on human health and aims to reduce health and environmental risks.
The project was founded in 2013 as an initiative launched by Engineer / Mohamed Abdullah Mukhtar from Massive Dynamics Research Center in response to the noticeable increase in cancer cases in multiple regions of Sudan, especially in the Northern State, Gezira State, and the Nuba Mountains. This increase highlighted the urgent need to determine radiation levels in these areas and analyze environmental factors that may be linked to the rise in serious diseases.
Drones have been introduced to survey desert areas with rugged terrain. This technology allows for the coverage of large areas with higher accuracy and speed.
The team is developing smart systems to control drones and automatically analyze radiation data. These systems contribute to the preparation of radiation maps online.
